What is the best small game hunting or varmint control air rifle for less that $240?

What is the best small game hunting and pest control air rifle that I can get for $240 or less?

Please consider quality, accuracy, FPS and footpounds, and if the rifle needs a scope or if the iron sights work well.|||I second the recommendation of the RWS 34. It has a reputation for being far and away the best springer available for under $300. Its got a lifetime warranty backing up solid German engineering. Power is 14-15 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. Accuracy is exceptional, say 1-1.5 inch groups at 40 yards when scoped. All in all its a great gun.

I'd give runners up to the Benjamin 39x series guns and the Hammerli 850 in co2. Power in both runs right around 12 ft-lbs muzzle energy, and accuracy is good. The Benjamin 39x guns have a reputation for quality and durability. Plus since they're pumpers you don't have to buy gas. The Hammerli might be slightly more accurate and its a repeater. However you have to buy gas and it will lose some power when the temperature drops below 40 degrees F.|||%26gt;%26gt;Best small game air rifle for under $240%26lt;%26lt;

The RWS 34 you're looking at, is IMO, far and away the best all around air rifle for the $$....|||Don't rule out Gamo brand air rifles. They have a wide selection to choose from in two calibers that offer excellent speed. One called the whisper reduces noise up to 50%.|||.22 winchester|||RWS Model 1100. Iron sights work fine, but a scope only costs $30.
